Name: Billy

Age: 6

Diagnosis: Medulloblastoma

Home State: New York

After several episodes of vomiting, Billy’s mother Shelia took him to see their family doctor. Tests soon revealed a tumor called medulloblastoma.

Billy underwent surgery to remove most of the tumor. The Dorns asked that Billy be referred to St. Jude. "We had heard some wonderful things about St. Jude from a local man whose daughter was being treated at St. Jude for leukemia," Billy's mom said.

At St. Jude, Billy was given a 60 percent chance of beating the cancer. He endured high-dose chemotherapy and high-dose radiation, which has eradicated the remaining cancer from his brain.

Today, Billy’s cancer is in remission. He has returned home where he can again ride his bike and go fishing with his grandfather.
