When Kayla was 2 years old, doctors diagnosed craniopharyngioma, a solid brain tumor. After the diagnosis, Kayla was given just a 20 percent chance of survival. Kayla underwent serveral surgeries to remove the tumor and was referred to St. Jude for treatment.

At St. Jude, Kayla is currently undergoing radiation treatments. "Before we got here, we came very close to losing Kayla," said her mother Lationa. "St. Jude gave us hope."

Four-year-old Kayla says she loves "the girl nurses." She enjoys singing her favorite song, "Love Shack," with her mother.
