When 9-year-old Frankie developed small marks on his skin, his parents thought is was just chicken pox. A visit to their local doctor proved otherwise. Blood tests showed Frankie had acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and he was referred to St. Jude for treatment.
At St. Jude, Frankie is undergoing the standard protocol for AML which includes several months of chemotherapy. Frankie’s parents have been by his side throughout his stay at the hospital. "All of our needs have been met," said Frankie’s father, Frank, Sr. "We’ve been able to focus 100% on our son, and that’s important."
Frankie loves to play video games and watch the Chicago Bears, his favorite football team. "I wish that me and other kids that have cancer get through it and have normal lives," said Frankie. "St. Jude is definitely going to help me get better."
