            Name: Elizabeth

            Diagnosis:  Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

            Home State:  Illinois

When Elizabeth developed a pain in her foot, her parents became concerned. Their concerns turned to shock when, within a matter of days, Elizabeth could not walk and tests revealed she had the most common form of childhood cancer, acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The diagnosis came on her father’s 29th birthday.

The next day, the family left Illinois for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® to begin Elizabeth’s chemotherapy treatments. “St. Jude has provided us with ease of knowing our daughter is in the best place possible to be treated for what she has,” said Chris, Elizabeth’s dad.

The family has had some trying times, but through it all, Elizabeth has remained a “spark of light”— as Chris likes to say. “All the doctors, nurses and caretakers absolutely love her. They all flock around to see what she’ll say next, what song she’ll sing or who she’ll blow kisses to.”
