Name: Anna

Diagnosis:  Medulloblastoma

Home State:  Ohio

When 4-year-old Anna started vomiting, doctors thought she was dehydrated. But it was soon discovered that she had a brain tumor called medulloblastoma. After Anna underwent surgery, her parents discussed the situation with their oncologist. Not happy with what they were told, they decided to seek other opinions.

The family came across St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® on the Internet and was impressed with what they saw. Anna arrived at the hospital and immediately received radiation, then intensive chemotherapy.

“St. Jude is the most amazing place,” said Anna’s mom, Jennifer. “During this difficult time in our lives, the positive atmosphere and the attitudes of the patients, families and staff are what help us get by each day.”

Anna’s favorite activities include playing with her doll house, blowing bubbles and attending sporting events to cheer on her five older siblings.
